REPORT: Doug Baldwin Out Multiple Weeks

Doug Baldwin has been sidelined with lingering knee soreness since the start of camp, and it has now been reported that he will miss a few more weeks. Although the lack of clarity in the report indicates that the soreness may be more serious than initially thought, fantasy owners should not hit the panic button just yet given that there is still over a month until the season commences.

For the last three years, Baldwin has emerged as Russell Wilson’s favorite target and averaged over 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns per season in that time frame. Although missing preseason games is not a concern for the veteran WR, this is a situation worth monitoring as week 1 approaches. For now, this news should not have any impact on Baldwin’s current draft position (ADP33, WR11 in standard leagues).

Should Baldwin’s injury become more of a concern, Tyler Lockett will be the immediate beneficiary. Lockett already had sleeper appeal as the clear cut #2 receiver in Seattle, and this will be compounded should Baldwin miss any regular season games. Be sure to check back for updates and fantasy analysis as this development unfolds.
