Early Waiver Wire Favorites: Week 2
Every Sunday, before midnight, we will let you know who impressed us most on Sunday. We'll focus on guys owned in under 10% of ESPN leagues and give you our quick thoughts before our in-depth analysis of our favorite waiver targets comes out on Monday night. Here are our week 1 favorites:
Joe Flacco – QB, Baltimore Ravens
Owned in 8.5% of ESPN leagues
Flacco is off to a good start in 2018, throwing for 236 yards and 3 TD’s in week 1 followed by 376 yards and 2 TD’s in week 2. A 21-point followed by a 17-point performance currently rank him 14th among QB’s, ahead of Tom Brady, Jimmy Garoppolo, and Aaron Rodgers.
Tyler Boyd – WR, Cincinnati Bengals
Owned in 1.1% of ESPN leagues
Boyd’s Thursday night performance was slightly overshadowed by A.J. Green’s 3 TD game, but Boyd caught 6 passes on 9 targets for 91 yards and 1 TD, giving him the most receptions and the most receiving yards on the team in week 2. He’s the clear #2 WR ahead of John Ross and could see his offense become more pass heavy as they’ll likely be without Joe Mixon for a couple weeks.
Dede Westbrook – WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
Owned in 9.7% of ESPN leagues
Westbrook caught 4 passes for 81 yards and 1 TD in Sunday’s win over the Patriots. The former Biletnikoff Award winner has great speed which makes him a great deep threat and could see more production going forward after Bortles looked great as a passer in week 2.
Antonio Callaway – WR, Cleveland Browns
Owned in 3.7% of ESPN leagues
Already looking like the biggest beneficiary of Josh Gordon’s departure from the Browns, Callaway caught 3 passes for 81 yards a 1 TD in Sunday’s game against the Saints. He was lined up with the first unit and has a very high ceiling going forward.
Chris Ivory – RB, Buffalo Bills
Owned in 3.2% of ESPN leagues
Ivory only had 2 carries for 7 yards and 1 catch for 30 yards, but he was able to find the endzone and could be in for a bigger role in the offense with LeSean McCoy having left today’s game with a rib injury.
