Hail Mary: Week 3
Hail Mary is a play that most people won't even attempt. It is one of those last resort efforts to win. With this article, we would like to point out 4 players in which we expect to be x-factor players. Players that can do great any given week even if its just because of one play. These players are also each started in under 15% of leagues according to NFL.com. Here are the four big time players that could could make a difference maker in your lineup this week:
RBs:
Latavius Murray:
Start Percentage: 2.9%
Matchup: Buffalo Bills
Analysis: With Dalvin Cook ruled out, Murray should be the prime beneficiary. He received double digit carries every week except for one after he took over for Cook last season and that was with McKinnon sharing the load. He stands to see a lot of work against a Bills defense that has been terrible all season. Murray has proved in the past that he can handle being an every-down RB. Expect Murray to be a top 10 RB this week.
Sony Michel:
Start Percentage: 8%
Matchup: Detroit Lions
Analysis: In his first game back, Sony Michel only played 13 offensive snaps and yet he still had 10 carries. That was most carries of any Patriots RB despite playing less than 30% of the snaps. The Patriots clearly are expecting Michel to be a big contributor this year and he should expected to outplay Rex Burkhead moving forward with James White staying in the change of pace role. Michel should have even more opportunities this week after another week of getting healthy. Don’t be surprised if Michel leads all Patriots RBs this week in carries and rushing yards.
WRs:
Tyler Lockett:
Start Percentage: 6%
Matchup: Dallas Cowboys
Analysis: Despite Lockett being the number one receiver in the Seahawks offense, he is still only being started in 6% of leagues. Lockett has constant big play potential and injuries have really prevented him from ever being a consistent contributor. He has gotten 24 points through the first 2 weeks despite only being targeted 11 times. Lockett will not be as consistent as Baldwin, but expect another TD and 50 to 100 yards receiving this week against Dallas.
John Brown:
Start Percentage: 5.1%
Matchup: Denver Broncos
Analysis: John Brown has been tremendous in his limited time with the Ravens. He has become one of Joe Flacco’s favorite targets after getting 10 targets in last week's loss to the Bengals. Brown specializes as a deep threat and he has finally given Flacco the ability to throw it deep. He has scored a TD in each of his first two games and he is currently top 10 in yards per reception. Expect that trend to continue this week against a tougher Broncos. Flacco may need to air it out more than he has in recent games.
