Hail Mary: Week 5
Hail Mary is a play that most people won't even attempt. It is one of those last resort efforts to win. With this article, we would like to point out 4 players in which we expect to be x-factor players. Players that can do great any given week even if it’s just because of one play. These players are also each started in under 15% of leagues according to NFL.com. Here are the four big time players that could could make a difference maker in your lineup this week:
RBs:
Alfred Blue:
Start Percentage: 0.1%
Matchup: Dallas Cowboys
Analysis: As of right now, Lamar Miller is a game-time decision as to whether he can play on Sunday night. If he is not able to go, Blue would receive the full load in the backfield. Even if Miller does play, Blue will likely be more involved than he usually is. He is still available in 99.5% of leagues and he is worth a one week start for anyone who is looking for a high-risk high-reward situation. If Miller doesn’t play, expect blue to get about 80 yards rushing plus another 30 receiving.
Corey Grant:
Start Percentage: 0.1%
Matchup: Kansas City Chiefs
Analysis: With Leonard Fournette already being ruled out for this week, which leaves Yeldon and Grant to pick up the slack. Yeldon will likely get the start and get more snaps than Grant. However, this is still a great matchup for both RBs as the Chiefs have allowed the second most points to opposing RBs this year. Another reason Grant may see more snaps is due to the Jaguars trying to keep pace with a high-scoring Chiefs’ offense. Don’t be surprised if the Chiefs get a big lead early and Grant comes in more often in an effort to make up the deficit. Grant could be in line to get 15 yards rushing plus another 75 receiving this week.
WRs:
Marquez Valdes-Scantling:
Start Percentage: 0.1%
Matchup: Detroit Lions
Analysis: The Packers WR corps has plenty of question marks right now. With Cobb already ruled out and Adams and Allison both questionable, rookie MVS has been practicing with the first team offense all week. The Packers are one of the few teams that can support three fantasy relevant WRs consistently. If MVS can get open, Aaron Rodgers will find a way to get him the ball. While this play is risky due to lack of experience and production, it is reasonable to expect about 50 yards receiving and a TD this weekend for the rookie.
Jordy Nelson:
Start Percentage: 13.5%
Matchup: LA Chargers
Analysis: Jordy Nelson has been a top five fantasy WR over the last two weeks. He is finally showing some of the play-making abilities that he displayed consistently when he was in Green Bay. This week he goes up against the Chargers who have allowed the seventh most fantasy points to opposing defenses this season. He should be able to continue right where he left off the last two weeks especially if Carr continues to look for him in the redzone. Expect Jordy to put up another 60 yards receiving and a touchdown this week.
