FFL's Week 6 DFS Lineup

Week 6 of the 2018 season is upon us and with that comes Fantasy Football Live’s fifth DFS (Daily Fantasy Sports) lineup! Each week we’ll release an optimal DFS team (PPR Scoring) for Sunday’s games, giving anyone having a poor fantasy season a chance at redemption. Our Week 6 lineup below was created on DraftKings with a $50,000 budget.

QB: Cam Newton

Matchup: @ Washington Redskins

Price: $6,100

Analysis: The Washington Redskins went into Monday night earlier this week as statistically one of the best pass defenses through 2018 so far. Drew Brees showed the Redskins and us fantasy owners that the Redskins pass defense may not be all that great. With a healthy Greg Olsen, expect Cam Newton to pass the ball with ease on Sunday, along with getting yards with his feet. Cam Newton should finish as a top 5 QB this week.

RB: David Johnson

Matchup: @ Minnesota Vikings

Price: $5,900

Analysis: This matchup doesn’t look great on paper, but the Vikings defense doesn’t look nearly as good as they were last year. What’s also encouraging is that David Johnson’s usage has gone up recently, averaging 20 carries over the past two games. It may have taken a while, but it seems as though Offensive Coordinator Mike McCoy has learned that this offense lives and dies with David Johnson, and expect the Cardinals to try to establish the run game early. Johnson can be gotten for relatively cheap on Draft Kings considering he is a player who can put up multiple touchdowns any given week.

RB: Dalvin Cook (INACTIVE)

Matchup: vs Arizona Cardinals

Price: $5,700

Analysis: On the other side of the ball, the Vikings will be happy to have back Dalvin Cook. Their run game has been atrocious without him, and while he carries a Questionable designation, he is likely to play. Latavius Murray has had every chance to prove that he deserves a role once Cook returns but he’s failed to deliver. The Cardinals have one of the weakest run defenses in the league, so expect Dalvin Cook to run wild in this matchup.

WR: Mike Evans

Matchup: @ Atlanta Falcons

Price: $8,100

Analysis: Mike Evans is the most expensive player in this lineup, but for good reason. The Falcons have let up over 30 points in each of their last 4 games, and the Buccaneers have one of the most talented groups of pass-catchers in the league. The Bucs are also coming off a bye week which not only gave them plenty of time to prep for this game, but also gave key players like O.J. Howard time to get healthy. Jameis Winston shouldn’t have trouble passing the ball in this game, and if the Bucs can manage to put points on the board like everyone else has in recent weeks, it’s likely that Mike Evans is a big reason why.

WR: Tyler Boyd

Matchup: vs Pittsburgh Steelers

Price: $6,000

Analysis: Tyler Boyd had an off-game last week, but there’s good reason to believe he bounces back this week. The Steelers are giving up the second most PPR points to slot receivers this season, where Boyd will see a lot of his snaps. Andy Dalton is also having a solid season so far, so expect Boyd to be lined up for a big day.

WR: Quincy Enunwa

Matchup: vs Indianapolis Colts

Price: $5,600

Analysis: Quincy Enunwa hasn’t had the production desired of a DFS pick yet, but there’s good reason to believe that this is the game he breaks out. In every week but last week he has seen at least 8 targets. That currently ranks 20th in the league, indicating that Enunwa is being targeted like a true #1 WR for the Jets. He’s coming off a 0-catch week which is discouraging, but his poor performance was because of the fact that he was being covered by the best slot-corner in the league in Chris Harris Jr. The Colts have been particularly susceptible to allowing catches in the middle of the field, so expect Enunwa to bounce back in a big way.

TE: David Njoku

Matchup: vs Los Angeles Chargers

Price: $3,800

Analysis: The Chargers have been great at limiting production from the TE position, but Baker Mayfield has been chucking the ball Njoku’s way pretty frequently. In fact, since Mayfield became starter for the Browns, Njoku ranks 5th in targets among tight ends, behind only Zach Ertz, Travis Kelce, Eric Ebron, and Jared Cook. The only thing Njoku is lacking is the production, specifically touchdowns, but Njoku is a physically gifted and talented enough player that it is likely this stretch of failing to score will end soon. Paying $3,800 for a player getting nearly the same amount of targets as $5,000 Jared Cook and $5,400 Eric Ebron is a bargain worth taking to free up money for other positions.

FLEX: Marshawn Lynch

Matchup: vs Seattle Seahawks (London)

Price: $5,300

Analysis: The Seahawks don’t particularly have a bad run defense, but Marshawn Lynch has had a great season so far other than his down-game last week. Through Week 5, Lynch has brought “beast mode” back to life, ranking 2nd in the league in broken tackles and 3rd in yards after contact. You’d also be putting Lynch in against his former team, and if any player would pop off against their former team it would be Beast Mode.

D/ST: Chicago Bears

Matchup: @ Miami Dolphins

Price: $3,300

Analysis: The Chicago Bears have the #1 defense in fantasy, despite already having their bye week. The players on this team are good at both pressuring the quarterback and stopping the run, while the Miami Dolphins are not really good at either passing or running after crashing back down to earth following a 3-0 start. Since Aaron Rodgers’ spectacular comeback in Week 1, no team has topped 20 points on the Bears, and it wouldn’t be smart to expect the Dolphins to.
