Hail Mary: Week 9

Hail Mary is a play that most people won't even attempt. It is one of those last resort efforts to win. With this article, we would like to point out 4 players in which we expect to be x-factor players. Players that can do great any given week even if it’s just because of one play. These players are also each started in under 15% of leagues according to NFL.com. Here are the four big time players that could could make a difference maker in your lineup this week:

RBs:

Elijah McGuire:

Start Percentage: 0.1%

Matchup: Miami Dolphins

Analysis: After spending the entire first half of the season on IR, McGuire could be a big factor when he returns to the lineup this week. The Jets have really liked using two backs as part of a committee and with Powell out for the year, McGuire seems to be the most likely candidate to pick up where Powell left off. He will also get a great matchup in his first week back as the Dolphins have let up the 3rd most fantasy points to RBs this season. Expect McGuire to get his season started with 50+ yards total and a touchdown.

Devontae Booker:

Start Percentage: 3.7%

Matchup: Houston Texans

Analysis: Last week with Freeman out, Booker was given a bigger workload and he definitely exceeded expectations. He was able to gain over 100 yards on 13 touches. While Freeman remains questionable, I expect the Broncos to keep him off the field with their bye week coming next week. If they do, Booker should receive any of the carries not taken by Lindsay. Expect Booker to put up another 8+ fantasy point day assuming Freeman does not play.

WRs:

Courtland Sutton:

Start Percentage: 6.0%

Matchup: Houston Texans

Analysis: Sutton has been one of the most valuable waiver wire pickups this week due to his increase in production of late and his opportunity for increased snaps after the trade of Demaryius Thomas. He has had over 50 yards or a TD in each of his last five games and those numbers should go up as the rest of the season continues. Look for Sutton to finish the week with his first 100 yard receiving game of the season.

D.J. Moore:

Start Percentage: 5.4%

Matchup: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Analysis: D.J. Moore is another guy who was very hot target on the waiver wire this week after he exploded for 129 yards last week. With Torrey Smith ruled out again, Moore should remain a key piece in the offense and his ability to make big plays should allow him to continue to produce at a high level. His matchup against a Bucs’ defense that has been giving up 3rd most points against WRs this season will give him even greater chances of continuing his recent success. Expect at least 70 yards and a touchdown from Moore this week.
