Early Waiver Wire Favorites - Week 11

Want to get a leg up on your fantasy rivals? Want to find some of those deeper league waiver claims that your league mates would never see coming? Check out our early waiver wire favorites after week 11 Sunday here!

Tre’Quan Smith – WR, New Orleans Saints

Owned in 13.3% of leagues

Prior to week 11, Smith caught 12 passes for 214 yards. In week 11, he caught 10 passes for 157 yards, both season highs. He caught 4 more passes than any other Saint in the blowout win over the Eagles, and is developing quite a connection with Drew Brees. He’s the WR2 in what might be the league’s best offense, making him a must-roster in all leagues.

Gus Edwards – RB, Baltimore Ravens

Owned in 0.0% of leagues

In a backfield that was seemingly a timeshare between Alex Collins and Buck Allen, Gus Edwards emerged seemingly out of nowhere to dominate the touches. He carried the ball 17 times for 115 yards and 1 TD, while Collins and Allen combined for 8 carries and 20 yards. Edwards should be the RB1 going forward, and a lead back is a must-roster, and often a must-start.

Lamar Jackson – QB, Baltimore Ravens

Owned in 22.4% of leagues

Lamar Jackson has to be one of the more exciting and intriguing QB options from this point forward. In his first career start, he threw for only 150 yards and 0 TD’s, but he ran the ball 27 times for 117 yards. With help needed at WR and a QB with Jackson’s running ability, the Ravens will likely take a run-first approach to their offense for the remainder of the year. The volume on the ground for Jackson gives him a high floor, and he should be rostered going forward.

Antonio Gates – TE, L.A. Chargers

Owned in 13.1% of leagues

For the first time this year, Gates put together a performance with some fantasy relevance. Gates caught 5 passes for 80 yards and a TD and, at a shockingly thin TE position fantasy-wise, he might just be worth rostering. The drop-off from the first tier of TE’s to the second is massive, and Gates’ performance today makes him worth a look for some TE needy teams as the playoff push approaches.

Eli Manning – QB, New York Giants

Owned in 17% of leagues

Coming out of the Giants’ week 8 bye, Eli Manning has thrown 5 TD’s and has turned the ball over 0 times. The Giants offense has scored an average of 32.5 PPG over the last two weeks, and weapons like Odell Beckham Jr., Saquon Barkley, Sterling Shepard, and Evan Engram provide plenty of big play opportunities. His 12.8 yards per attempt today were his highest of the year, resulting from an increased tendency to go downfield and less of the dink-and-dunk offense.
