Hail Mary: Week 13
Hail Mary is a play that most people won't even attempt. It is one of those last resort efforts to win. With this article, we would like to point out 4 players in which we expect to be x-factor players. Players that can do great any given week even if it’s just because of one play. These players are also each started in under 20% of leagues according to NFL.com. Here are the four big time players that could make a difference maker in your lineup this week:
RBs:
LeGarrette Blount:
Start Percentage: 13.2%
Matchup: Los Angeles Rams
Analysis: Blount exploded last week when he was given the starting role. He finished with over 100 total yards and two TDs. With Kerryon out again this week, Blount should have no problem filling in. Expect at least 50 yards rushing and a TD for Blount this week.
Chris Thompson:
Start Percentage: 1.7%
Matchup: Philadelphia Eagles
Analysis: Chris Thompson will be active for the first time since week 8. Although there is risk involved with playing a guy who hasn’t seen live game action in six weeks, Thompson’s ability to be a safety valve/ third down check down guy will help out tremendously for Colt McCoy. With a divisional matchup against the defending Super Bowl champs, expect the Redskins to come out fighting as they try to keep up with Dallas for the division. Thompson should have over 70 yards receiving by the end of the game.
WRs:
Adam Humphries:
Start Percentage: 12.3%
Matchup: Carolina Panthers
Analysis: Adam Humphries has really taken advantages of his recent opportunities to the tune of four TDs over the past four games, including two against the Panthers in week 9. With Jackson out this week, expect Humphries to step up and get over 80 yards receiving and a TD.
Chris Conley:
Start Percentage: 0.6%
Matchup: Oakland Raiders
Analysis: Chris Conley was significant in the shootout with the Rams two weeks ago. After the bye week, Sammy Watkins is still injured and he is out for today’s game. This opens up a great opportunity for Conley to play in two and three WR sets. Any chance you get to play a key piece in an excellent offense, there is always a large upside. Expect him to put up over 60 yards and a TD this week.
