FFL's Week 14 DFS Lineup

It’s playoff time, and whether you are in or out of the playoffs of your fantasy league, everyone can get in on the DFS action! Each week we’ll release an optimal DFS team (PPR Scoring) for Sunday’s games, giving anyone having a poor fantasy season a chance at redemption. Our Week 14 lineup below was created on DraftKings with a $50,000 budget.

QB: Lamar Jackson

Matchup: @ Kansas City Chiefs

Price: $5,700

Analysis: It’s official. I’m all aboard the the Lamar Jackson train, especially against the Kansas City Chiefs this week. The Chiefs defense is one of the weaker units in the league, and Jackson should have plenty of success running the ball. He’s improved as a passer each week, and he should also continue to make progress in the passing game as well considering the Ravens will likely need to pass to keep up with the Chiefs. At $5,700, Jackson is a great bargain.

RB: Saquon Barkley

Matchup: @ Washington Redskins

Price: $8,900

Analysis: Shocking news came out this morning that Odell Beckham Jr. is going to be out this week to nurse a bruise in his quad, which makes Saquon Barkley one of the most appealing players in fantasy. With Odell out, the Giants will likely stick to a more run-heavy game plan that will aid Barkley’s production. The biggest boost in his value though will be seen in the passing game, as OBJ’s absence leaves Barkley as Eli’s top passing option along with Sterling Shepard. Barkley is set to receive both a large run and pass workload, and this should lead to a productive day for the rookie.

RB: Phillip Lindsay

Matchup: @ San Francisco 49ers

Price: $6,300

Analysis: Filling out the RB position is another rookie player in Phillip Lindsay, who has been on fire as of late. Over his last 3 games he has 375 total yards and 5 touchdowns, and he should continue his streak against a reeling San Francisco 49ers defense that gave up over 150 rushing yards and 43 points to the Seattle Seahawks last week. Lindsay has established himself as not only the best back in Denver, but one of the up-and-coming players in this league. Starting him should yield great fantasy production.

WR: Keenan Allen

Matchup: vs Cincinnati Bengals

Price: $7,400

Analysis: The Cincinnati Bengals team and organization is in turmoil right now, which is in part due to their defense this season. They have one of the worst pass defenses in the league, which Philip Rivers should have ease dismantling. His #1 target, Keenan Allen, should be a beneficiary of Rivers’ solid day. Last week Allen was great, getting 148 yards and a touchdown, but perhaps more impressive is the 19 targets he got from his QB. If Allen gets a similar high target share, against a weak pass defense, Allen should be set to have one of the best days in fantasy for a WR.

WR: Chris Godwin

Matchup: vs New Orlean Saints

Price: $4,900

Analysis: There is no secret that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will have to have a day passing the football if they want to keep up with the New Orleans Saints. Jameis Winston will be slinging the ball to the final whistle, and Chris Godwin should have a good day because of it. Godwin has been extremely reliable for the Bucs, having caught 19 of 20 targets in his last 4 games, and he is set for big production with DeSean Jackson out of the picture. Godwin is a starting receiver in a game that will include high passing totals from both teams, so getting Godwin for under $5,000 is a great deal.

WR: Antonio Callaway

Matchup: vs Carolina Panthers

Price: $3,900

Analysis: Antonio Callaway’s rookie season so far has been up and down, a season perhaps best described by his 70+ yard catch last week at the end of which he fumbled before getting into the endzone. Just 2 plays before that, he had another 70 yard catch that was called back due to holding. It is clear that Callaway has big play potential, which he could use to his advantage in his matchup against Carolina. In recent weeks, the Panthers have been susceptible to giving up big plays in the passing game (4 receptions over 30 yards in the past 2 weeks), which should feed right into Callaway’s game.

TE: Eric Ebron

Matchup: @ Houston Texans

Price: $5,700

Analysis: The volatility at the TE position forces me to pay big for a tight end, and Ebron is one of the best options. Even in a game where the Colts scored 0 points last week against the Jaguars, Ebron still managed a solid fantasy day with 10 catches for 81 yards. Already having 12 TDs on the season, Ebron should be expected to score in tomorrow’s important matchup against the Houston Texans. This game should feature Andrew Luck and Deshaun Watson firing on all cylinders, which could create a high scoring game and plenty of opportunities for Ebron to get into the endzone.

FLEX: Dante Pettis

Matchup: vs Denver Broncos

Price: $4,400

Analysis: Although the San Francisco 49ers offense has been awful in recent weeks, Dante Pettis has still found a way to have success, with over 200 yards and 3 TDs in the last two games. Pierre Garçon is ruled out for this game, which should still leave Pettis with a starting role on the field opposite Marquise Goodwin. Chris Harris Jr., start corner for the Broncos, is also expected to miss this game so there’s a good chance that Pettis continues his streak of good games.

D/ST: New York Giants

Matchup: @ Washington Redskins

Price: $2,500

Analysis: The Giants defense took a hit this week, losing Landon Collins for the season, but it’s hard to pass up any defense that is playing against Mark Sanchez. Sanchez has been off the field for a while, so it would be reasonable to expect that he makes multiple mistakes while he tries to get back into the rhythm of things. The Giants defense isn’t great, but they have the opportunity to be great against the Redskins this week.
