Early Waiver Wire Favorites - Week 14
Want to get a leg up on your fantasy rivals? Want to find some of those deeper league waiver claims that your league mates would never see coming? Check out our early waiver wire favorites after week 14 Sunday here!
Elijah McGuire – RB, New York Jets
Owned in 11.3% of leagues
With Crowell leaving the game early due to injury, McGuire was thrust into the RB1 role. He took 17 carries for 60 yards and 1 TD as well as 3 catches for 23 yards. A 20-touch workload is not easy to find on the waiver wire during the playoffs, and if Crowell isn’t able to play next week, McGuire finds himself with RB2 potential.
DaeSean Hamilton – WR, Denver Broncos
Owned in 5.5% of leagues
With Emmanuel Sanders being moved to the IR, the expectation was that Courtland Sutton would be the clear Denver WR to own in fantasy. DaeSean Hamilton stepped up in a big way and caught 7 passes for 47 yards and a TD compared to Sutton’s 2 catches for 14 yards. He was targeted 9 times and his performance should lead to more playing time and targets going forward.
Tim Patrick – WR, Denver Broncos
Owned in 0.6% of leagues
Another Denver WR who stepped up in Sanders’ absence was Tim Patrick, who caught 7 passes for 85 yards on 10 targets, leading the team in yards and targets. Patrick and Hamilton have a great opportunity ahead of them with Sutton underperforming in Sanders’ first game out.
John Ross – WR, Cincinnati Bengals
Owned in 14.6% of leagues
John Ross hasn’t dazzled statistically as of late, but what he has done is find the endzone in 4 of Cincinnati’s last 5 games. Ross broke the combine record with his 40-yard dash time, so his playmaking ability is there. Cincinnati will surely try to keep him involved in the offense with the success he has recently had finding the endzone.
Trent Sherfield – WR, Arizona Cardinals
Owned in 0.0% of leagues
With Christian Kirk being moved to the IR, Trent Sherfield is looking like the next man up. When Kirk left the KC game last week, Sherfield played 39 snaps while J.J. Nelson played just 20. This week, he was able to get more involved in the passing game, catching 5 passes for 77 yards. The Arizona offense is nothing to be excited about, but Sherfield could get involved enough to bring decent flex value over the next 3 weeks.
