Hail Mary: Week 15
Hail Mary is a play that most people won't even attempt. It is one of those last resort efforts to win. With this article, we would like to point out 4 players in which we expect to be x-factor players. Players that can do great any given week even if it’s just because of one play. These players are also each started in under 20% of leagues according to NFL.com. Here are the four big time players that could make a difference maker in your lineup this week:
RBs:
Elijah McGuire:
Start Percentage: 9.0%
Matchup: Houston Texans
Analysis: McGuire has been a nice compliment to Crowell ever since returning from IR. With Crowell now heading to IR with an injury, this is now McGuire’s backfield for the rest of the season. While his matchup is not great against the Texans, his workload and ability to both run and catch the football will give him ample opportunities. Expect at least 60 total yards and a touchdown from McGuire.
Kenneth Dixon:
Start Percentage: 3.4%
Matchup: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Analysis: Kenneth Dixon has been a player I have liked for a while. He is a very talented RB who really has had unfortunate luck throughout his career leading to him never getting the opportunity. Recently, he is finally getting that opportunity and he has taken advantage of it. This season Dixon has a 4.8 YPC and Harbaugh has even come out saying after last Sunday that they need to get him the ball more often. With the dynamic offense that they run with Lamar at QB, expect Dixon to break out with over 90 yards this week.
WRs:
Tim Patrick:
Start Percentage: 0.2%
Matchup: Cleveland Browns
Analysis: Tim Patrick is still very young and he is not as refined as some of his teammates, but he does have incredible athleticism. He has already shown a good rapport with QB Case Keenum and it shouldn’t be difficult to continue that this week against the Browns. Patrick may have the lowest floor of all the Broncos’ WRs, but he makes up for that by having debatably the highest ceiling as well. Expect Patrick to take another step this week towards an everyday role with over 50 yards and a TD.
Robby Anderson:
Start Percentage: 2.6%
Matchup: Houston Texans
Analysis: Robby Anderson is a great candidate for the Hail Mary every week. He makes a living on big plays just as he did last week when he had 76 yards and a TD. With Quincy Enunwa out this week, Anderson will be working as the number one receiver for the Jets and they will definitely need him to play that way. I believe he will live up to the expectations and come through for the Jets this week. Expect 80 yards receiving and a TD for Anderson.
