Hail Mary: Week 16

Hail Mary is a play that most people won't even attempt. It is one of those last resort efforts to win. With this article, we would like to point out 4 players in which we expect to be x-factor players. Players that can do great any given week even if it’s just because of one play. These players are also each started in under 20% of leagues according to NFL.com. Here are the four big time players that could make a difference maker in your lineup this week:

RBs:

Zach Zenner:

Start Percentage: 7.7%

Matchup: Minnesota Vikings

Analysis: Zach Zenner has really taken on a bigger role in the Lions’ offense since they shut down Kerryon Johnson. The veteran got the start last week despite Blount being active and that trend should continue this week. If Blount cannot go, Zenner will take over most rushing situations and switch with Riddick on passing downs. He has also scored a TD in two straight games. Expect another 50 yard day with a TD if Blount cannot play or is limited in any capacity.

Alfred Blue:

Start Percentage: 0.2%

Matchup: Philadelphia Eagles

Analysis: Alfred Blue will be getting the start with Lamar Miller ruled out. This will be a great opportunity to start Blue if you have one of the many banged up RBs. He has performed solid in a backup complementary role, but given his only competition for carries will be coming from Foreman, he should play a large majority of the snaps. His increase in carries and snaps should set him up for over 70 total yards this week.

WRs:

Sterling Shepard:

Start Percentage: 8.7%

Matchup: Indianapolis Colts

Analysis: Sterling Shepard will get another opportunity to hold the number one WR job for the Giants. He has been relatively disappointing recently while OBJ has been out, but the matchup against the Colts should give him an opportunity to redeem himself at a very crucial time in the season. Expect 80 yards from Shepard and the opportunity to score a TD.

Chris Hogan:

Start Percentage: 1.3%

Matchup: Buffalo Bills

Analysis: Chris Hogan should be getting a big bump in playing time this week after the suspension of Josh Gordon. Even though Brady is known to distribute the ball to many different guys, Hogan has been one of the better deep threats the Patriots have had this season. Expect Hogan to take advantage of this opportunity and get over 60 yards and a TD this week.
