FFL's Week 17 DFS Lineup
Although fantasy seasons may be over for most of us, that doesn’t mean we still can’t play Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) on DraftKings! Whether you’re coming off a losing season and need a chance at winning in something, or you’re a champion with newfound cash waiting to be spent on something, everyone can benefit from the ideal DFS Lineup, which we provided below. This lineup was made with a $50,000 budget and is in a PPR format.
QB: Aaron Rodgers
Matchup: vs Detroit Lions
Price: $6,300
Overall Aaron Rodgers has been a disappointment this fantasy season, but after a monster 40+ point performance last week he finished as the QB4 in fantasy. Last week was his only week when he scored better than 30 points, but his next best performance of the season came against the Detroit Lions in Week 5, the team that he is facing this week. Rodgers has a history of popping off against the Lions, and without the drama of the Rodgers-McCarthy feud, Rodgers could easily find himself having a great week.
RB: Chris Carson
Matchup: vs Arizona Cardinals
Price: $6,500
Chris Carson has been one of the most consistent performers in fantasy over the late part of the season, with 6 touchdowns in the last 6 games and scoring no lower than 13 points along that stretch. Next up for Carson is an Arizona Cardinals Defense that has the worst Run D in the league. With over 100 rushing yards in each of the last two games, Carson is rolling right now, and he should continue his success against the Seahawks division rival.
RB: Damien Williams
Matchup: vs Oakland Raiders
Price: $6,100
Getting Damien Williams at $6,100 should be considered a great deal. While Spencer Ware should be healthy for this week’s game, Williams has locked up the starting gig in Kansas City, proven by his new contract that keeps him in Kansas City for the next two years. In Kareem Hunt and Spencer Ware’s absence Williams has filled in admirably, improving his rushing total in 3 straight weeks along with his yards per carry. The true value in Williams though can be seen in his role as a pass catcher, with 6 or more catches in his last two games and two receiving TDs in his last 3 games. Against a Bottom-5 Oakland Raiders’ run D, Williams should have a good fantasy day.
WR: Julian Edelman
Matchup: vs New York Jets
Price: $7,600
Julian Edelman has been fantastic in the second half of the season, scoring under 16 points only once in 8 games. He has become Tom Brady’s most reliable target, and could see even more targets now that Josh Gordon is out of the lineup. Edelman has a real chance to go off this week, especially considering that the Packers put up over 30 points on the Jets last week. Even though Brady has taken a step back this season, he has had success connecting with Edelman to produce good fantasy numbers. Putting Edelman in your lineup this week will provide your WR1 position with a high floor and high ceiling.
WR: Alshon Jeffery
Matchup: @ Washington Redskins
Price: $5,700
Alshon Jeffery has seen a bit of a renaissance now that Nick Foles is under center for the Eagles. He’s averaging 18.4 points over his last 3 games and has a good chance to succeed this week as Nick Foles’ top target. The Eagles are on a hot streak trying to sneak into the playoffs, and in a Week 17 game with everything on the line, counting on Nick Foles to produce is a good bet. Nick Foles should have a great performance against the Redskins, resulting in good fantasy production from Alshon Jeffery.
WR: Jamison Crowder
Matchup: vs Philadelphia Eagles
Price: $4,800
Jamison Crowder is by no means a lock for fantasy production this week, but he projects as a good player to take a risk on. Since coming back from lingering injuries, Crowder has assumed the WR1 role for the Redskins, and his production is trending in a positive direction. He has over 75 receiving yards in two of his last 3 games, and has increased his number of receptions in each of the last 3 weeks. The Redskins project to be playing from behind most of the game, which should create plenty of opportunities for Crowder. Crowder seems to have secured a consistent reception and yardage total, but a touchdown on top of that would make Crowder a great value pick at $4,800.
TE: Jared Cook
Matchup: @ Kansas City Chiefs
Price: $5,500
Jared Cook is coming off a poor week, but his matchup this week should have owners excited as Cook is going up against one of the worst defenses against Tight Ends. He has been Derek Carr’s most reliable target all year so expect Carr to find Cook often in this matchup. $5,500 is a hefty price for a tight end, but Jared Cook should finish in the Top 5 of his position.
FLEX: Courtland Sutton
Matchup: vs Los Angeles Chargers
Price: $4,500
As the cheapest, non-defense player in this lineup, Courtland Sutton should not be considered a lock for good production, but he has the upside that you want out of a low budget player. Getting 10 targets from Case Keenum last week, Sutton capitalized, getting 6 catches for 65 receiving yards and a touchdown. It’s no guarantee Sutton puts up similar production against the Chargers this week, but the Broncos should have a pass-heavy gameplan with Phillip Lindsay on IR and the likelihood that they play from behind against a good Chargers team.
D/ST: Baltimore Ravens
Matchup: vs Cleveland Browns
Price: $2,900
While the Browns Offense has been good as of late, the Ravens Defense has been outstanding, shutting down the Los Angeles Chargers offense last week. In that game, the Ravens D/ST scored 20 points, and they could very well put up a similar performance this week with the playoffs on the line.
