2019 Draft Analysis: N'Keal Harry to New England
With the #32 pick in the 2019 draft, the Patriots select Arizona State WR N’Keal Harry. Harry earned First Team All-Pac 12 honors with 1,088 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.
Harry projects as an X-receiver in the NFL, utilizing plus ball skills and hands to serve as a reliable target. He lacks agility and breakaway speed but could succeed alongside quicker receivers. Anquan Boldin seems like an obvious comparison, as Harry has a similar physical presence, soft hands and the potential to enjoy a lengthy career. Harry will join a Patriots team that has been known to get the best out of their receivers in the past.
With Gronk now retired, Brady will need a new reliable target to throw to and harry will fit that mold perfectly. As a rookie, he will need to earn the trust of one of the most prolific QBs in the league, but he will have tremendous potential to succeed assuming Josh Gordon does not return this season. Expect this to put a hit on Demaryius Thomas' value as Harry tries to take his role as the #2 receiver in the offense.
